Hexagonal Gabion Mesh

Hexagonal gabion mesh features a double twisted weave and is fabricated into gabion baskets, mattresses and slope protection mesh for stone-filled retaining structures. We supply products manufactured from hot-dip galvanized wire, Galfan wire and PVC-coated galvanized/Galfan wire.

Thanks to its flexible structure, double twisted hexagonal mesh adapts better to minor ground settlement than rigid welded mesh panels. It is widely used for river regulation, erosion control, embankment reinforcement, drainage channels and retaining wall construction. All specifications including mesh aperture, wire gauge, surface coating, basket dimensions, diaphragm spacing and lacing wire can be tailored to project drawings and actual water exposure conditions.

• Mesh Structure: Double twisted hexagonal weave. This design prevents extensive tearing even if a single wire breaks.

• Material: Hot-dip galvanized steel wire, Galfan-coated steel wire, PVC-coated galvanized or Galfan wire

• Mesh Aperture: 60mm × 80mm, 80mm × 100mm, 100mm × 120mm

• Main Wire Diameter (base wire, before coating): 2.0mm, 2.2mm, 2.4mm, 2.7mm, 3.0mm

• Edge Wire Diameter: 3.0mm, 3.4mm, 3.9mm (edge wire is thicker than main mesh wire)

• Lacing Wire Diameter: 2.0mm, 2.2mm, 2.4mm (selected to match basket size and main wire)

• PVC Coating Thickness: Approximately 0.5mm

• Standard Gabion Basket Size: 1m × 1m × 1m, 2m × 1m × 1m, 3m × 1m × 1m, 4m × 1m × 1m

• Standard Gabion Mattress Size: Thickness: 0.17m, 0.23m, 0.30m; Overall size: 3m × 2m, 4m × 2m, 6m × 2m

• Diaphragm Spacing: Internal diaphragms installed every 1m for baskets longer than 1m

• Filling Stone: Stone size must be larger than the mesh aperture. Follow project standards for stone grading in hydraulic projects.

• Surface Treatment: Hot-dip galvanized for general outdoor applications. Galfan or PVC coating is recommended for riverside, coastal, wet soil and long-term exposure environments.

• Packing: Products are folded and compressed into bundles. Lacing wires and accessories can be packed together or separately.

• Installation Guidance: Prior to installation of retaining walls, confirm foundation treatment, drainage layers, geotextile placement, backfill methods and maximum wall height.

Hexagonal Gabion Basket – 2m × 1m × 1m, 80mm × 100mm Aperture

This 2m × 1m × 1m hexagonal gabion basket adopts double twisted mesh with 80mm × 100mm aperture. It is widely used for retaining walls, slope toe protection, drainage channels and general erosion control projects.
