Carbon electrodes can be divided into carbon electrodes, graphite electrodes, and self-baked electrodes according to their uses and manufacturing processes.
Carbon electrode is made of low-ash anthracite, metallurgical coke, pitch coke and petroleum coke. It is composed of a certain proportion and particle size. Add binder asphalt and tar when mixing, stir evenly at appropriate temperature and press. Shaped and finally obtained by slow roasting in a roaster. Can be divided into four types of natural graphite electrodes, artificial graphite electrodes, carbon electrodes and special carbon electrodes.
Graphite electrode is made of petroleum coke and pitch coke as raw materials. It is then placed in a graphitization resistance furnace with a temperature of 2273 ~ 2773K and graphitized to make a graphite electrode. The graphite electrode is divided into the following Species.
①The graphite electrodes with ordinary power allow the use of graphite electrodes with a current density lower than 17A / cm2. They are mainly used for ordinary electric furnaces such as steelmaking, siliconmaking, and yellow phosphorus.
②Anti-oxidation coating The surface of the graphite electrode is coated with a protective layer (graphite electrode antioxidant) that can conduct electricity and resist high temperature oxidation, reducing electrode consumption during steelmaking (19% ~ 50%), and prolonging the service life of the electrode (22% ~ 60%), reduce the power consumption of the electrode.
③High-power graphite electrodes allow graphite electrodes with a current density of 18 ~ 25A / cm2, which are mainly used for high-power electric arc furnaces for steelmaking.
④Ultra-high-power graphite electrodes allow graphite electrodes with a current density greater than 25A / cm2. Mainly used in ultra high power steelmaking arc furnace.
