Basic composition and manufacturing materials of slurry pump

Slurry pumps and their over-flow parts and wearing parts are common categories in pump spare parts. When the processing medium required by the pump contains a certain amount of solid particles, the medium will have abrasion resistance to the over-flow parts of the pump spare parts. The over-flow parts need to be made of wear-resistant materials. Such a water pump is a slurry pump.

The scope of application of slurry pumps is relatively wide, such as mineral processing plants, power plants, alumina plants, copper plants and other mining enterprises will use slurry pumps, whose main function is to transport slurry for cyclone, magnetic flotation and other equipment . The main structure of the slurry pump is divided into three parts: pump body, shaft seal and transmission.

First, the pump body of the slurry pump

Most of the slurry pumps adopt a double pump casing structure. The outer pump casing structure is composed of the pump body and the pump cover. The inner pump casing structure is composed of the slurry pump impeller, the sheath, the front shield and the rear shield. There are three manufacturing materials for the outer pump casing structure of the slurry pump: gray iron, ductile iron, and cast steel. The inner pump casing structure is also called the flow part of the pump. There are also three manufacturing materials, namely KMTBCr26, Cr15Mo3, and rubber.

The internal pump casing structure of the slurry pump is also the over-flow component, which accounts for a high proportion of the core manufacturing cost of the pump spare parts, which means that it represents the core quality level of the slurry pump. The part that should be examined first.

Among the materials used in the manufacture of pump flow parts, KMTBCr26 has fine metal grains, good wear resistance, and high cost performance. At present, 70% of slurry pump flow parts are made of this material. Although the Cr15Mo3 material has higher wear resistance and better hardness, the service life can reach 1.5 times that of KMTBCr26, but its cost is twice as high as KMTBCr26, so the cost performance is lower and the range of use is smaller. Rubber has better corrosion resistance among the three manufacturing materials. When the medium contains solid particles with smooth edges, no sharp corners, and the head of the slurry pump does not exceed 40 meters, it is appropriate to choose rubber-made overcurrent parts.

Second, the shaft seal of the slurry pump

The shaft seal of slurry pump is divided into packing seal, auxiliary impeller seal and mechanical seal.

1. Packing seal of slurry pump

The packing seal of the slurry pump is sealed by the soft and hard running-in between the packing and the shaft sleeve. The packing seal needs to be sealed with shaft seal water. The method is widely used in ore dressing plants and coal washing plants.

2.The secondary impeller of the slurry pump is dense

The secondary impeller seal of the slurry pump is sealed by the pressure generated by the secondary impeller. It is required that the back pressure of the slurry pump does not exceed 15% of the outlet pressure of the centrifugal slurry pumps. This seal method is used when the user lacks water.

3. Mechanical seal of slurry pump

The mechanical seal of the slurry pump is sealed by the friction between the dynamic and static rings of the mechanical seal. The mechanical seal is divided into three types: no water injection mechanical seal, water injection external flushing mechanical seal, and water injection inner flushing mechanical seal.

Third, the slurry pump transmission part

The transmission part of the slurry pump consists of a pump shaft, a bearing and a bearing box. We can use dry oil lubrication and thin oil lubrication to lubricate the bearings. Generally speaking, when the temperature of the slurry pump conveying medium is high or the size of the slurry pump is large, the thin oil lubrication and the need Making cooling water.
