Overview:

Known as Ganoderma lucidum, this tree-based fungus has a long history of application in China and Japan as a kind of semideified healing herb. It is more popular than ginseng and rarer. Ganoderma lucidum extract (also known as ganoderma lucidum refined powder) is actually the ganoderma lucidum extractum through timely harvest of mature fresh sporocarp, drying, hot water extraction, (or alcohol extraction), vacuum concentration, and spray drying. It is highly-concentrated ganoderma lucidum essence.

Composition:

The main ingredients of ganoderma lucidum extract are ganoderma lucidum triterpenoids and ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides.

Efficacy Overview:

1. Ganoderma lucidum extract is used by some surgeons in Japan to treat cancer patients. Its significant antitumor and immune stimulating effects have been identified in many cases. Polysaccharides isolated from ganoderma lucidum and other medicinal mushrooms have been patented in Japan and used as immunomodulator in cancer treatment. It has shown liver-protective effects on chemically induced injuries in a laboratory environment, including protection against the highly toxic carbon tetrachloride which is lethal substance.
