 Principle of Electrodeposition Equipment

The principle of electrodeposition equipment is to deposit metal coatings through an electrochemical process in which metal ions are reduced on the cathode surface under the action of an electric field.

In the electrodeposition process, the equipment usually consists of key components such as a plating tank, a cathode (the part to be plated), an anode (the metal plate), and a DC power supply. The electroplating tank contains an electrolyte solution containing metal ions, the part to be plated is immersed in the solution as the cathode, and the metal plate is placed opposite the cathode as the anode. When the DC power supply is turned on, the metal ions in the electrolyte solution move toward the cathode under the action of the electric field and undergo a reduction reaction on the surface of the cathode to deposit a metal coating. At the same time, the metal atoms on the anode lose electrons and become metal ions into the electrolyte solution, maintaining the concentration of metal ions in the solution.
