Engine water plug replacement skills

The long-term contact between the engine water block and the automobile antifreeze, coupled with high temperature, is very likely to rust. If the engine water block on the top of the cylinder head becomes rusted, the antifreeze in the waterway will leak. Mixed with car oil, insufficient engine cooling, high temperature alarm, car oil loses wettability, increasing engine damage. So, if you notice a refrigerant leak or your vehicle has a high temperature alarm, check that the water plug is intact. If there is any problem, the engine water plug must be replaced immediately.

Engine water plug replacement method:

Before replacing the engine water-cooling block, the water must be cleaned, then the air filter element and air intake must be removed, and then the supercharger and generator set must be removed. After removing the heating tube, you can see the water block. The engine water plug is a replaceable annular cup-shaped metal material plug. To remove the water plug, knock off one side of the water plug, lift the other side up, lift it with needle-nose pliers, and install a new water plug.

In some cars, the transmission must be removed to replace the engine water block. After removing the transmission, remove the engine timing chain cover. It can be seen that there is a water block on the engine block and a water block on the top of the cylinder head. The overall replacement project is very large and must be carried out in a professional after-sales repair shop.
