Fiberglass mesh tape vs drywall joint paper tape vs fibafuse tape

When finish any drywall project , May likely need to choose drywall tape  . Today there are some choode to paper drywall tape, self adhesive fiberglass mesh tape, fibafuse tape . 

Paper drywall tape is the standard for drywall tape , paper drywall tape is strong, smooth finish , Use paper drywall tape, have to use mud takes a while to dry.  paper tape can be more difficult to apply perfectly than fiberglass mesh tape . Since it is more prone to air bubbles and a bit easier to rip you embed it in the mud with a knife .

Hot Mud is compatible with fiberglass mesh tape, which does not require a bed coat like paper drywall tape. Fiberglass mesh tape with self adhesive , can apply it direct. you do not need to worry about air bubbles causing problems down the road , fiberglass mesh tape can also save you time and is particularly well suited to patch jobs where the strength of finished joints is slightly less important . 

Fibafuse Tape

Fibafuse tape is a relatively new tape product that aims to combine some of the best qualities of paper and mesh tapes. fibafuse tape is made of fiberglass, but it’s a solid tape, not a mesh. It’s more breathable than paper tape and fuses chemically with the compound to create a strong bond. Thanks to its breathability, it offers a shorter drying time with traditional mud compared to paper tape.design to creat a joint that is 76%  stronger than paper tape.
