This specification covers seamless ferritic steel pipe and EFW Welded carbon Pipe and alloy-steel pipe for high-temperature service.
Application of ASTM A333 Seamless Steel Pipe
Seamless carbon and alloy steel pipe is intended for use at low temperatures and in other applications requiring notch toughness. For example: power stations, nuclearpower plants, chemical plants, oil refineries, industrial plants and so on.
Manufacturing Process of ASTM A333 Seamless Steel Pipe:
ASTM A333 pipe shall be made by the seamless steel pipe (cold-drawn or hot rolled) as specified.
Details of ASTM A333 Gr.6 Seamless Steel tube:
Manufacture: Seamless and welding and process are available, seamless process: cold drawn or hot rolled, but Grade 4 Shall be made by the seamless process.
Seamless Steel Pipe: OD: 20~700mm W.T.: 2-30mm
Grade: Grade 1, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 6
Length: 6M or specified length as required.
Ends: Plain End, Beveled End.
Heat treatment:
All seamless and ERW Carbon Steel Welded Pipe other than Grades 8 and 11, shall be treated to control their micro structure in accordance with one of the following method:
Normalize at the discretion of manufacturer, reheat to a suitable tempering temperature. For the seamless process only, reheat and control hot working and the temperature range from 1550 to 1750°F and cool in air or in a controlled atmosphere furnace from an initial temperature of not less than 1550°F. Seamless pipe of Grades 1,6 and 10 maybe heat treated by heating to a uniform temperature of not less than 1500°F.
