Knitted Wire Mesh is a metal wire or plastic strand knitted into an interlocking looped mesh structure, the same way as stockings and should not be confused with woven mesh, which is the form of rectangular openings of parallel wires. The knitted mesh has a flexibility not possessed by the woven mesh, due to the loops being able to move relative to each other thereby giving a two-way stretch. This flexibility gives knitted mesh a unique advantage for many industrial uses.
