What factors does the viscosity of polyethylene adhesive tape depend on?

Viscosity is an important reflection of the excellent performance of polyethylene adhesive tape. When carrying out anti-corrosion construction on pipelines, if the adhesive force of the tape is insufficient, its anti-corrosion effect will inevitably be affected. So what are the factors that affect the annual performance of adhesive tapes? How to improve the bonding strength of polyethylene anti-corrosion tape?

1. Ambient temperature.

When the ambient temperature is too low, the initial adhesion and adhesive force of the polyethylene adhesive tape will decrease, and measures such as infrared heating can be used to compensate.

2. Environmental humidity.

The standard ambient humidity is 60%-70% relative humidity, and the humid environment humidity is greater than 90% relative humidity. At this time, the adhesion speed is low, but the adhesion force is increased.

3. Pipe temperature.

The higher the pipe surface temperature, the stronger the initial adhesion of the polyethylene adhesive tape, but when the temperature exceeds 40°C, the adhesion will decrease after a certain opening period.

Cooling in winter will reduce the adhesive force of the tape, so the pipeline anti-corrosion operation becomes more difficult than before, so the tape is heated during construction to improve the adhesive force of the tape. When selecting an appropriate time period for construction, construction is generally carried out during a period when the temperature exceeds -5 degrees Celsius, and construction should be abandoned below this temperature. If the outdoor temperature is very low, construction should be avoided as much as possible to avoid affecting the anti-corrosion effect.
