Gabion Boxes can be classified as a type of geosynthetic material used for erosion control, soil stabilization, and retaining walls. They are typically made of wire mesh or welded wire panels, and filled with stones or other materials. The classification of gabion boxes may vary based on different factors such as size, design, material, and application.
KuoJiu Gabions Boxes are double-twisted "DT" wire mesh containers with variable dimensions that are uniformly divided internally into cells and interconnected with other similar cells. When filled with stone at the project site, they form a flexible, permeable, monolithic structure that can be used as mass gravity walls, channel linings, and revetments and weirs for geotechnical, hydraulic, and erosion control projects.
KuoJiu gabion baskets are made from high quality steel wire. We are unique in our ability to manufacture solutions with thicker diameters to ensure higher mechanical properties. We offer welded gabion boxes and woven hexagonal gabion boxes in a variety of sizes.
Woven Hexagonal Gabion Box, also known as Heavy Duty Hexagonal Wire Mesh, Double Twisted Wire Mesh, Gabion Mesh, Triple Double Twisted Gabion Mesh, and Double Twisted Gabion Mesh, are cages made of metal hexagonal wire mesh with a wire diameter matching the size of the hexagonal mesh. In case of galvanized hexagonal wire mesh, the wire diameter is from 2.0mm to 4.0mm, in case of plastic coated hexagonal wire mesh, the PVC wire diameter is from 3.0mm to 4.5mm.The edge wire wire is thicker than the grid wire wire.
Welded Gabion Mesh is made of high quality low carbon steel wire. After being welded and shaped in strict accordance with the standards, using automated, precise and accurate mechanical equipment, the surface of welded gabion mesh baskets is electro-galvanized, hot-dip galvanized, plastic coated, impregnated or galvanized chemically, and plasticized.
Common classifications include:
1. Dimensions: Gabion boxes are available in various sizes and shapes, such as rectangular, square, or cylindrical. They can be classified based on their dimensions, such as length, width, and height.
2. Mesh size: The wire mesh or welded wire panels used in gabion boxes have different mesh sizes, which can be classified based on the size of the openings or the distance between the wires.
3. Wire diameter: The wire diameter used in gabion boxes can vary, and the classification can be based on the thickness or gauge of the wire.
4. Galvanization: Gabion boxes can be galvanized to improve their resistance to corrosion. They can be classified based on the level of galvanization, such as hot-dipped galvanized or PVC-coated galvanized.
5. Application: Gabion boxes serve various purposes, and their classification can also be based on the specific application, such as riverbank protection, soil erosion control, slope stabilization, noise barriers, or decorative landscaping.
6. Strength: Gabion boxes can have different strength levels, depending on the intended use. They can be classified based on their load-bearing capacity or the type of environment they are suitable for, such as high-strength gabions for heavy-duty applications.
7. Design: Some gabion boxes have unique designs, such as gabion mattresses or gabion mattresses with a mesh lid. These specialty designs can also be classified based on their specific features.
