An EPS Batch Pre-Expander Machine is a specialized piece of equipment used in the manufacturing process of expanded polystyrene foam products, particularly in the context of the Lost Foam casting technique. EPS Batch Pre-Expander Machine adopts the most advanced PLC technology, and the pre-heating beads are uniform. It is composed of automatic electronic weighing (optional) or quantitative feeding system, pressurized foaming barrel of foaming machine, computer control system, discharging system and fluidized buffer bed. The EPS Batch Pre-Expander Machine can be turned on with one key, automatic feeding, fool-like operation, unattended.

2. Electromagnetic heating system
3. Fluidized bed
4. Automatic quantitative system (optional automatic weighing system)
5. Feeding system (fan*3)
Lost Foam White Zone Equipment Main functions and advantages
One-key start, fully automatic operation, universal for EPS and STMMA (copolymer). The pre-expanded beads have uniform size, low moisture content, no dead particles, and basically no agglomeration. It is easy to install and occupies a small area.
Fully automatic control: realizes the parameterized control of a series of steps such as automatic feeding, automatic weighing, pre-loading, automatic unloading, etc., and automatic operation, and the manual operation program is reserved in the system, which is convenient for small batch trial production and maintenance. Humanized settings, flexible and convenient conversion of the two operation methods.
Pre-foaming Process:
In the process of manufacturing Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), the raw material in the form of granules is transported to a pre-expander. Inside the pre-expander, the granules are exposed to wet steam, which heats them up. The heat from the steam softens the polystyrene beads and triggers the blowing agent that was dissolved in them. As a result, the blowing agent evaporates, causing the softened beads to expand.
The density of the final EPS product can be adjusted based on two factors: the weight of the raw material used and the volume of foam created during the expansion process. Once the EPS beads have been pre-expanded, they are then cooled and stabilized in a fluidized bed, which is supported by an air cushion. After this step, the pre-expanded beads are transferred using a blower and a rotary feeder into the silos for further processing.
