Polyken 1027 Liquid Adhesive Primer is recommended for use with our coating systems only. The Polyken 1027 liquid adhesive primer consist of a mixture of butyl rubber and synthetic compound and a solvent-gasoline. The liquid adhesive is quickly drying applied to the appropriately prepared pipe surface before application of inner layer tape. The function of liquid adhesive is to provide a bonding medium between the pipe surface and the inner layer tape. It is suitable for hand brush or machine spray application. It can be applied by hand or machine.

Application
The Polyken 1027 liquid adhesive primer is the base layer when applying coating tapes. Once the pipes surface is clear of dirt and debris, you can apply the 1027 primer. 1027 can either be hand-brush applied or machine applied when large areas are needing to be coated. The 1027 can also be spray applied using the 16 oz spray cans. Once the area is prepped with 1027 primer, you can apply either Polyken 900-12 or 930-35.
Hand-application : app. 0,2 litre/m² pipe surface
Machine application: app. 0,1 litre/m² pipe surface
Ideal For:
Surface protection for masonry, concrete, OSB, rigid insulation, wood, and metal. Brush or roller priming applications. Promotes adhesion and anchorage prior to installation of window, door and roof flashing. Promotes adhesion and anchorage prior to installation of pipe wrap tapes.
