What is urea in bulk?

Urea, also known as carbamide, is an organic compound composed of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen and hydrogen. It is a white crystal and a product after metabolism of animal protein.

Urea is a white, crystalline solid that is highly soluble in water and is commonly used as a nitrogen-release fertilizer in agriculture. It is also used in the production of plastics and resins, as a raw material for the manufacture of urea-formaldehyde resins, and as a feedstock for the production of other chemicals.

In bulk, urea is typically stored in large, sealed containers or tanker trucks and is transported by truck, train, or ship. It is often sold in granular or prilled form, which allows it to be easily handled and applied to fields. The specific properties and handling of urea in bulk depend on the form in which it is sold and the conditions under which it is stored and transported.

What is urea used for?

Laboratory use: Sodium bicarbonate can be used as analytical reagent and also used for inorganic synthesis. It can be used to prepare sodium carbonate - sodium bicarbonate buffer solution. When a small amount of acid or alkali is added, the hydrogen ion concentration will not change significantly, and the pH value of the system can be kept relatively stable.

Industrial use: Sodium bicarbonate can be used to produce soda-acid fire extinguishers and foam fire extinguishers. In the rubber industry, sodium bicarbonate can be used to produce rubber and sponge. In metallurgical industry, sodium bicarbonate can be used as flux for casting steel ingots. In the mechanical industry, sodium bicarbonate can be used as a forming aid for cast steel (foundry) sand mold. In the printing and dyeing industry, sodium bicarbonate can be used as a fixing agent for dyeing and printing, an acid-base buffer, and a post-treatment agent for fabric dyeing and finishing; adding baking soda during the dyeing can prevent the yarn from producing dyeing defects, and can also be used as a detergent for wool.

Use in food processing: In food processing, sodium bicarbonate is the most widely used bulking agent, and is used to produce biscuits and bread. However, sodium carbonate will remain after the action. If it is used too much, the food alkalinity will be too high, thus causing bad flavor and yellowish brown color. It is a carbon dioxide generator in soft drinks, and can be combined with alums to form alkaline fermentation powder, or be combined with sodium carbonate to form civil sodium carbonate decahydrate, and can also be used as butter preservative. It can be used as color fixative for fruits and vegetables in vegetable processing. When washing fruits and vegetables, adding about 0.1%~0.2% sodium bicarbonate can make the green stable. When sodium bicarbonate is used as a treatment agent for fruits and vegetables, by boiling and bleaching the fruits and vegetables, the pH value of fruits and vegetables can be increased, the water holding capacity of proteins can be improved, the softening of food tissue cells can be promoted, and the astringent ingredients can be dissolved. In addition, it has the effect of eliminating the smell of goat milk, and the use amount is 0.001%~0.002%.

Use in agriculture and animal husbandry: Sodium bicarbonate can be used for soaking seeds in agriculture, and can also make up for the lack of lysine content in the feed. Dissolving sodium bicarbonate in a small amount of water or mixing it into concentrate for feeding cattle (adding an appropriate amount) can promote the growth of cattle, and significantly improve the milk yield of cows.

Medical use: Sodium bicarbonate can be used as pharmaceutical raw material, for treating hyperacidity and metabolic acidosis, and for alkalizing urine to prevent uric acid kidney stone. It can also reduce the nephrotoxicity of sulfa drugs, prevent hemoglobin from depositing in renal tubules in case of acute hemolysis, and treat the symptoms caused by hyperchlorhydria. Intravenous infusion has a non-specific therapeutic effect on drug poisoning such as barbiturates, salicylates and methanol. However, it is forbidden to be used for gastric lavage in case of poisoning due to swallowing of strong acids. In case of injection of a large volume, renal insufficiency or long-term application, arrhythmia, muscle spasm, pain, abnormal fatigue and weakness, slow breathing, unpleasant odor in mouth, frequent urination, urgent urination, persistent headache, reduced appetite, nausea and vomiting may occur.
