At present, the quality of petroleum coke is more and more unstable, especially the volatile and sulfur content index changes greatly, carbon enterprises want to produce high quality and cost-effective anode products, first of all, the volatile and sulfur content of petroleum coke must be controlled and mixed.

As can be seen from Table 1, as the volatile content of petroleum coke increases from low to high, the temperature of calcination zone increases, and the volatile content, true density, air reactivity and CO2 reactivity of calcined pet coke also show a trend from low to high.
Through the above data analysis that: if the volatilization of petroleum coke content is smaller, there will not be too high calcination temperature, so the Raw material is not very good calcination, could not reach the requirements of calcining process parameters, petroleum coke will not produce good physical and chemical reaction, true density is low, small volume shrinkage, thus losing the meaning of calcination.
On the contrary, if the petroleum coke contains too high volatile content, first lead to the overall high temperature, the furnace body will be damaged, the service life will decrease; Secondly, coking occurs in the tank, the volatile channel is not smooth, the discharge quantity is reduced, and then affect the product quality.
Through the above data can be seen at the same time, lower volatilization of petroleum coke, calcined petrolem coke quality is not stable, under the condition of the same calcination, get real density is better than normal volatile calcined petrolem coke calcined petrolem coke is less after the calcination of 0.02 g/cm3, other indicators are better than normal coke is poor, so just use the volatilization of lower petroleum coke as Raw material, It can not meet the requirements of high quality anode products .
