Biological Wastewater Inactivation System

Biological waste produced by pharmaceutical and gene-therapy manufacturing and R & D processes is considered hazardous to human health and therefore requires inactivation before it can be safely discharged to the sewer. Common methods for performing this deactivation utilize either heat, which elevates and holds temperature to "destroy" any existing living microorganisms, or chemicals, which are injected and held at specific concentrations required to eliminate biological waste. Following inactivation, wastewater can be safely discharged to the city sewer.

The Biological Wastewater Inactivation System is mainly used in biopharmaceutical enterprises or laboratories, scientific research institutes and other units, where the biological wastewater treatment inactivation system discharged in the production process needs to be sterilized to kill pathogens before it can be discharged into the next level of the sewage treatment system. The biological wastewater treatment inactivation system has the advantages of thorough sterilization, high degree of automation, simple operation, good safety and high reliability.

KEAN’s Biological Wastewater Inactivation Systems are available in multiple sizes and configurations, and its biokill + pH adjustment and biokill + pH adjustment + CIP systems draw seamlessly from its extensive experience in skid mounted pH adjustment systems. Integrating these processes into one system ultimately saves the client money and time by combining what are normally considered two or three separate and expensive systems into one. Since the combined biokill + pH adjustment and biokill + pH adjustment + CIP systems  are designed and fabricated as a single, integrated system there are no compatibility, interface, communication or service issues that typically arise when utilizing multiple skids from multiple vendors. Cost savings can also be enjoyed through a reduction in field installation requirements and operator manpower.

KEAN Biological Wastewater Inactivation System - Three processes, one system.

The KEAN Biological Wastewater Inactivation System allows for batch or continuous thermal inactivation of KEAN and pH adjustment to be managed in one system under one set of controls.  Configurations vary based on customer processes and footprint requirements.

The KEAN Biological Wastewater Inactivation System + pH Adjustment + CIP System allows for batch or continuous thermal inactivation of KEAN,  pH adjustment and CIP processes to be managed in one system under one set of controls.  No need to coordinate multiple FAT's, multiple HMI/controls conventions, or multiple service departments.  Wastech's team of chemical, mechanical, electrical and controls engineers along with KEAN's department of  in-house, factory Field Service engineers ensures one point of contact, one point of responsibility for system performance.  Configurations vary based on customer processes and footprint requirements.

Biological Wastewater Inactivation System Working principle:

This Biological Wastewater Inactivation System adopts physical thermal sterilization method for biological live toxin wastewater, through steam directly into the live toxin wastewater, using high temperature to denature the bacterial body or coagulation enzyme to lose activity and make the bacteria die, while the chemical bond in the DNA and RNA of the virus at high temperature absorbs heat and causes the bond to break, thus making the virus inactivated.
