The output signal of a Hall Effect Sensor is a voltage that changes in ratio to the shaft extension. A constant voltage is necessary throughout the supply and ground wires of the detector. The sensor is made up of Hall Effect element, and a shaft which homes a magnet. When the position of the sensor changes relative to the shaft, the change in magnetic field in the sensor leads to a change in output voltage.
Linear Hall Sensor differ in the switches as follows: Determined by the magnetic field, the output doesn't have a different switching condition, but supplies a signal proportional to the magnetic field power.
This output can be sent as a analog output signal, a pulse-width-modulated sign (PWM) or even as a contemporary bus protocol (SENT). Various packages are available: through pit SMD, single or double perish configuration, with our without integrated capacitors.
