Publisher's Call for Papers: Journal of Modern Medical Imaging

Journal of Modern Medical Imaging (JMMI, ISSN 2707-997X), founded in 2020 and published by Innovation Forever Publishing Group Limited, is an open access, peer-reviewed, online journal striving to provide an academic exchange platform online for researchers and readers in the fields of Radiology, Nuclear Medicine & Medical Imaging.

Imaging medicine belongs to bioimaging and includes diagnostic imaging, radiology, endoscopy, medical thermography, medical photography, and microscopy. Additionally, techniques including brain wave mapping and magnetoencephalography can be considered another form of medical imaging. Although they are focused on measurement and recording, without image presentation, the data that can be generated all have localization properties (i.e. contain location information).

Nuclear medicine is an emerging discipline that uses nuclear technology to diagnose, treat and study diseases. It is a product of modern science and technology such as nuclear technology, electronics, computer technology, chemistry, physics and biology combined with medicine. Nuclear medicine can be divided into two categories, namely, clinical nuclear medicine and basic nuclear medicine or experimental nuclear medicine. The former is closely integrated and interpenetrated with all clinical disciplines. Nuclear medicine can be divided into cardiovascular nuclear medicine, neurology nuclear medicine, gastroenterology nuclear medicine, endocrine nuclear medicine, pediatric nuclear medicine and therapeutic nuclear medicine by organ or system.

Since the 1970s, the growth of single photon emission computed tomography and positron emission computed tomography, as well as the innovation and development of radiopharmaceuticals, have led to breakthroughs in nuclear medicine imaging technology. It complements and corroborates each other with CT, MRI and ultrasound techniques, and has greatly improved the diagnosis and research of diseases, so nuclear medicine imaging is a very active branch and an important part of the recent clinical medical imaging and diagnosis.

The target audience of JMMI includes researchers, radiologists, physicians, policy makers and any related professionals working to advance the development and application of diagnostic medical imaging technologies, as well as a broader group of readers (policy makers, academics, engineers and students) interested in advanced diagnostic imaging devices and the application of artificial intelligence in biomedical imaging.
