B. Understanding the process of hot-dip galvanized eyebolt

1. Degreasing can be done by chemical degreasing or water-based metal degreasing cleaning agent until the workpiece is completely moistened by water. 

2. Pickling can be done with H2SO4 15%, thiourea 0.1%, 40～60℃ or with HCl 20%, hexamethylenetetramine 1～3g/L, 20～40℃. Adding corrosion inhibitors can prevent substrate over corrosion and reduce the amount of iron substrate hydrogen absorption. Poor degreasing and pickling treatment will cause poor adhesion of the plating layer, not plating zinc or zinc layer off.

NH4Cl 15%~25%, ZnCl2 2.5%~3.5%, 55~65℃, 5~10min. glycerin can be added to reduce NH4Cl volatilization. 

4. Drying preheating in order to prevent the workpiece in the immersion plating due to a sharp increase in temperature and deformation, and remove residual moisture, to prevent the production of explosive zinc, resulting in zinc explosion splash, preheating is generally 120 ~ 180 ℃.  

5. Hot-dip galvanized eyebolts should control the temperature of the zinc solution, the dipping time and the speed of removal of the workpiece from the zinc solution. If the temperature is too low, the zinc liquid fluidity is poor, the plating layer is thick and uneven, easy to produce hanging, poor appearance quality; high temperature, the zinc liquid fluidity is good, the zinc liquid is easy to detach from the workpiece, reduce hanging and wrinkle phenomenon, strong adhesion, thin plating, good appearance, high production efficiency; but the temperature is too high, the workpiece and zinc pot iron damage is serious, producing a large number of zinc slag, affecting the quality of the dip zinc layer, zinc consumption, or even unable to apply to plate.  At the same temperature, the plating time is longer and the layer is thicker. The time required for high-temperature dip plating is longer when the same thickness is required at different temperatures. Some factories use higher temperatures for large workpieces and cast iron parts, but avoid the temperature range of iron loss peak. In order to improve the fluidity of the hot-dip plating solution at lower temperatures, prevent over-thickness of the coating and improve the appearance of the coating, 0.01% to 0.02% of pure aluminum is often added. Aluminum should be added in small amounts several times.

6. finishing after plating on the eyebolt finishing is mainly to remove the surface residual zinc and zinc tumor, with vibration or manual methods can be.  

7. The purpose of passivation is to improve the surface corrosion resistance of the eyebolt, reduce or extend the time of white rust, and maintain a good appearance of the plating. All use chromate passivation, such as Na2Cr2O7 80-100g/L, sulfuric acid 3-4ml/L.  

8. Cooling, generally water-cooled, but the temperature should not be too low to prevent the workpiece, especially castings due to the radical cooling shrinkage of the matrix tissue cracking.

9. Inspection, eyebolt plating appearance bright, detailed, no hanging, wrinkled skin phenomenon. Thickness inspection can be used coating thickness gauge, the method is relatively simple. Can also be converted through the amount of zinc adhesion to get the thickness of the coating. Bonding strength can be used with a bending press, the sample for 90 ~ 180 ° bending, there should be no cracks and plating off. It can also be tested by hammering.
