Dos and don'ts of operating concrete mixing plant

In order to keep concrete mixing plant working safely, reliably and increase its service life, there are some rules we need to follow when we operate it:

1. The concrete mixer should be installed on a solid and level ground to prevent dumping due to ground subsidence.

2. Before operation, check the machine systems according to the procedures of cleaning, tightening, lubricating, adjusting, and anti-corrosion, and make them meet the requirements; hidden accidents must be eliminated in time.

3. Electricity-driven concrete mixers and power distribution equipment should be equipped with appropriate fuses and grounding devices to ensure the safety of the electrical system.

4. During the operation of the concrete mixer, please do not let the sand and gravel fall into the running part of the machine to avoid the parts being jammed and damaged.

5. After the hopper is raised, no one can pass or stay under the hopper. If it is necessary to perform maintenance under the hopper, shut down the power supply and hang the hopper with a safety chain before proceeding. The hopper should be lowered slowly to avoid falling too fast, damaging parts or malfunctioning.

6. It is not allowed to stop for no reason before discharging, let alone start after feeding, and the feeding amount cannot exceed the specified capacity.

7. Before the hopper is stopped, no feed is allowed.

8. The concrete mixer body must be installed stably and firmly. Before work, check whether the clutch and brake are flexible and reliable, whether the wire rope is broken or damaged, whether the protective device is complete and reliable, and conduct a trial operation; for example, the mixer drum rotates smoothly, does not jump, does not deviate, the hopper up and down and the discharge door rotate flexibly, The cam mechanism under the hopper is normal before it can work. Overload use is prohibited; hands or other objects are prohibited to reach into the mixing drum to fiddle, clean and repair while the machine is in operation.

9. When the concrete mixer is in full-load operation, there is a sudden power failure or failure, the manpower should be used to clear the material in the mixing drum, and then inspect or repair it. It is not allowed to start the concrete mixer at full load to prevent excessive current from damaging the motor when starting.

10. If the operator must enter the mixing drum for cleaning or maintenance, the power supply should be strictly controlled to prevent accidents.

11. After the mixing work is over, the concrete mixer should be cleaned in time to prevent the concrete from agglomerating. When cleaning, protect electrical equipment from moisture. The cleaning work must be carried out after the power is off to prevent electric shock.
