Car owners must take diligent and thorough care of every part of the car. Not only on the outside but also on the inside must be treated and cleaned to avoid any bacteria and viruses.
Of course, cleaning the dashboard of the car also needs to be done properly. It would be a shame if the elegant or luxurious interior looks pimply and dirty.
To avoid this, check out some of the following tips on how to clean your car's dashboard every month.
Before doing any cleaning, you must first make sure that the dashboard surface is free of dirt or dust. This is important because any amount of dirt or dust can cause scratches during the cleaning process. You can use a vacuum with a soft brush to suck up and remove any dirt.
After making sure the surface is free of dirt and dust, it's time to wipe down the dashboard. You can choose the cleaning solution according to the dashboard material.
To prevent damage, it is recommended that you perform a patch test before wiping the entire surface. Spray the cleaning solution on a small surface of the dashboard. Wait and observe if there is any discoloration. If there is no change, then you can safely continue wiping all surfaces.
Dashboards are made of a variety of materials. Some are made of plastic, wood, rubber or even leather. If your car is equipped with a leather dashboard, you can simply wipe the surface with a clean microfiber cloth. However, if you want a little more, you can use a special car upholstery fluid.
To clean between dashboards, you can use a small brush or a soft-bristled toothbrush, for example, to clean the air conditioning compartment. If there are stubborn stains, don't worry, you can use a homemade cleaning solution to tackle them.
Mix two cups of water with 3 tablespoons of vinegar, ½ tablespoon of detergent and ½ tablespoon of oil-based liquid soap. Spray this homemade liquid directly onto the surface or first onto a cloth and then gently wipe the surface.
If your dashboard is made of a leather material, more care is needed. Leather materials are usually more sensitive to chemicals such as soap. This liquid can dry out the leather and cause it to crack. Therefore, simply wipe the leather dashboard with a damp cloth.
Now that you know some tips on how to clean your dashboard, don't forget to do it properly next time!
