If your dump trailer won't dump, it can be stressful, especially if you're stuck on a job site and can't unload.
In most cases, it's a simple trailer wiring problem that you can fix at the job site in five minutes.
If your trailer can only be raised or lowered in one direction, you may be experiencing a remote control or coil problem.
Open the remote control with the four screws on the corners and make sure all contacts are touching the buttons. If the contacts on the remote do not press the buttons, the dump will not raise or lower.
Replace the cover and test the remote again.
To check if your coil is the culprit for the dump trailer not raising or lowering, grab a metal tool with a rubber end, hold it against the nut on the top of the coil, and press the down button. If the coil is not magnetized and pulling on your tool, then you may need to replace the coil.
To replace the square coil, grab a pair of pliers and loosen the nut at the top of the coil, pull it up and replace it with a new one. Connect the colored wire on the bottom port and the gray wire on the top.
