When it comes to Laser Welding Machine and argon arc welding machine, we have to mention the laser welding and argon arc welding technology. Both laser welding and TIG welding seem to produce similar quality results at face value, but which welding method is best for your project? The following are some of the advantages and disadvantages of both weld strategies:
Laser Welding Machine
Laser welding is much cleaner than traditional arc or tig welding, so it helps reduce the risk of contamination. It is also more precise, easier to automate, and can bond thinner metals and provide greater tensile and bending strength.
If arc welding is typically part of the manufacturing process for your product, you may want to consider laser welding instead. Unlike arc welding, which requires bonding material or fillers to join two pieces of metal, laser welding creates a direct metal-to-metal bond with no fillers required. Unlike arc or torch welding, there is no slag (excess filler that melts and re-hardened around the weld) to grind off afterwards, and no slag left behind that could contaminate the application environment. This is especially important in applications such as medical, dental and scientific instrumentation, where you don't want pieces of material to come off and cause harm to people or delicate equipment.
But it also has some drawbacks. The initial laser welding unit can be a relatively expensive investment. Laser welding equipment can be costly to maintain. Not well suited for reactive materials. Fast cooling may cause cracking in some metals. Overcoming seams is more difficult. Setting up an automatic laser welding system requires proper calibration and regular maintenance.
Laser Welding Machine
TIG welding can be used for many metals compared to other types of welding processes. TIG welding is also versatile in that it can be used on both thin and thick metals. The welder has more control over the welding process. It is ideal for detailed welding projects. TIG welding produces precise, clean results. The process produces no sparks, fumes or smoke. Lower equipment costs compared to laser welding. Because of the use of filler material, it is easier for the welder to overcome gaps between two surfaces that do not fit well together. The slow cooling rate of TIG welding means that certain metals have less chance of cracking.
However, it does have some disadvantages. tig welding requires a high degree of hand-eye coordination and concentration to achieve a perfect weld. In addition, creating a successful TIG weld requires more experience and skill than laser welding. TIG welding can be a more time consuming process. Heat can be transferred to the surrounding metal, causing distortion or changes in the metal structure. This can result in a weaker weld. Argon arc welding is more susceptible to contaminants. Machinery is not easily portable compared to laser welding equipment. Not recommended for use in vertical or overhead positions as a pool of liquid can form around the weld.
