Many people are confused about the difference between High-speed Wire EDM and Low-speed Wire EDM. Here we will introduce the difference between high-speed wire and low-speed wire in wire cutting.
1. Different cable speeds.
Wedm-hs and WedM-LS in wire-cutting machines are distinguished by the wire moving speed of the electrode wire when it is working.
The wire speed of high-speed wire is generally 300-700m/min. The wire speed of low-speed wire is generally 3-15m/min.
2, electrode wire material is different.
The electrode wire materials of high-speed wire cutting machine are molybdenum wire and tungsten molybdenum alloy. The electrode wire of low speed wire generally uses copper wire or other metal coated wire.
3. Wire diameter of electrode.
The diameter of electrode wire for high-speed wire cutting machine tool is 0.03 ~ 0.25mm, the common diameter is 0.12 ~ 0.2mm, and the diameter of electrode wire for low-speed wire cutting is 0.15 ~ 0.3mm, the common diameter is 0.25mm.
4. Different working fluids.
WEDM-HS requirements are not too strict, the working fluid is generally emulsion. The working solution of WEDM-LS is deionized water or kerosene, and a filtration system is required to continuously filter impurities in the working solution during production.
5. Different precision.
WEDM-HS is electrode wire recovery, with the electrode wire wear, affect the machining accuracy. The accuracy of wedM-HS products is ±0.015 ~ 0.02mm.
The electrode wire of WEDM-LS is not recovered, which greatly improves the machining accuracy. The machining accuracy can reach ±0.002mm.
6. Fees vary.
Wedm-hs machine tools are common and low technology. Many manufacturers, cheap machine tools. And molybdenum wire recycling, processing efficiency is also high, low processing cost.
The wire cutting machine has high technology content and expensive equipment. Processing costs are also high.
