In order to celebrate festivals or hold some events, people will use face painting to dress themselves up. Normally, the lower part of the paint is bought, but we can also choose to make our own face paint. DIY face paint is less toxic and contains lower chemical substances than store-bought top paints. Using homemade face painting, people will have more sense of participation and will be more meaningful. Today we will teach you how to make your own face painting?
This is the most common DIY face painting recipe-its variants appear in the parenting blogosphere. Mix equal amounts of cornstarch with white cold cream or facial cleanser. Adjust the consistency by diluting with water or thickening with more cornstarch. Add a little vegetable oil or baby oil (about a quarter teaspoon) to help the paint smoother and prevent clumping. Add color with non-toxic washable paint, which can cost a few dollars at a craft store. Start with a little paint on each spoonful of the mixture. Food coloring can be used instead, but it may stain the skin. Flour or baby powder can replace cornstarch.
This formula produces a very thick, brightly colored paint, similar to the oil paint used by actors. The simplest version requires two parts cornstarch and one part vegetable shortening, so the homemade white finish is perfect for clown faces. Or, color it with washable paint or food coloring. For more complex recipes, mix 2 tablespoons of shortening, one-eighth teaspoon of petroleum jelly, and a bit of paint or food coloring. Mix 5 tablespoons of cornstarch with 1 teaspoon of flour, adding this powder to the shortening mixture little by little. The end result will be thick, a little chalky, and strong enough to handle.
This method is relatively simple. Crush the chalk into powder, then mix with emulsion to get thicker paint or with water to get thinner paint, and use it immediately. For creamier products, let the mixture dry first.
In a saucepan, mix 1 cup of flour, 2 tablespoons of salt, and 1.5 cups of cold water. Stir quickly or use a hand blender until the ingredients are completely mixed. Add 1 1/4 cup of hot water and bring to a boil. Cook until the mixture is smooth and stir again as needed. Add food coloring or paint color, and store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
People who like DIY can use natural food dyes instead of paint or food coloring. The following is recommended:
Green: pureed spinach or avocado and lemon juice.
Red: Cranberry juice.
For yellow: turmeric.
For orange: carrot juice.
For pink: beet juice or water left over from cooking beets, seedless raspberry jam, or mashed and strained raspberries.
Purple: Seedless blackberry or blueberry jam or mashed and strained blackberry or blueberry.
For brown: chocolate sauce or cocoa powder.
Mix any of these dyes with flour to make a paste. When the paste dries on the skin, apply a little vegetable oil on the surface. The color lasts only an hour; other methods may have more staying power.
Homemade face painting is really an enjoyable activity, but if you need a lot of it, it’s not as good as wholesale face painting. Union is specialized in making face painting.
