Three Cultivation Methods of Oysters

Oysters are a kind of marine life. It should be noted that it is not motionless in the ocean, so the breeding environment is very important. We have to choose sea areas without typhoons and pollution as oyster farms. The following are several oyster farming methods.

Floating Oyster Tumblers

Column Cultivation

The pillar is inserted into the cement pillar at the bottom of the sea. Its advantage is that the cost is lower, the adhesion effect is better, and it is not suitable for being driven by sea water. The surface of the cement column we build should be a bit rougher, with a height of about 2 meters and a diameter of about 30 cm, so that the oysters can be attached to the cement column more easily. Secondly, before putting the cement column on the seabed, the cement column should be placed in the silt for a period of time. This process is called column cultivation, which can provide a good nutrient foundation for oysters. The cement column should be checked frequently when raising the column. If the cement column is inclined, it should be straightened in time.

Raft Cultivation

Choose sea areas with smooth tides, abundant bait, calm winds and waves, and water depths above 4m as oyster raft breeding sites. Near river oysters should be chosen near the estuary with lower salinity; Dalian Bay oysters should be chosen far away from the estuary and sea areas with higher salinity. There are two main ways to grow:

Sling Cultivation

It is suitable for oysters with shells as the anchoring base. There are two ways to grow them: one is to connect the shells of the anchored oyster seedlings in series with ropes, separated by a bamboo tube of about 10cm in the middle, and hang them. Rafting on a raft; the second is to clamp the shells with oyster seedlings fixed in the twisted seams of a polyethylene rope with a diameter of 3 to 3.5 cm, and one shell is clamped every 10 cm and hung on the floating raft. Generally, each rope is 2~3m long.

Net Cage Cultivation

use scallop net cage culture. Put the oyster seedlings without a fixed base or the oyster seedlings fixed on the shells together with the shells into a scallop net cage, and raise them on the floating net.

Planting Bamboo Cultivation

Literally means to insert bamboo on the bottom of the sea. It should be noted that bamboo is processed in various ways. Usually there are six bamboos in a group, and the overall shape is like a funnel buckled on top of the sea mud. The length of each bamboo is controlled at about 1.5 meters, and the diameter is more than ten centimeters. The parts in contact with the seabed should be secured with ropes to prevent the bamboo from being washed away by ocean currents.
