October 16 is World Food Day. On October 15, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) officially launched a series of celebrations in Rome, Italy. The theme of World Food Day 2021 is "Action builds the future. Better production, better nutrition, better environment and better life. This year, the Food and Agriculture Organization of China (FAO) has selected 25 individuals or groups as "food heroes" to promote the transformation of agricultural food systems.

On October 17, Ye Minger, an associate professor at School of Agriculture and Biotechnology of Zhejiang University, was awarded the title of "Food Hero" of the United Nations, which was reported on the news broadcast. His research has shown that flexible and innovative planting techniques can boost crop growth and yields while conserving natural resources and improving farmers' livelihoods. Innovation Forever Publishing Group Limited provides an overview of current international developments in agriculture and biotechnology to help you learn more about this field.

In today's new situation where countries around the world are establishing gene-based intellectual property protection and seizing the international biotechnology high ground in the 21st century, agriculture experts are calling for close attention to the growing trend of commercialization of research achievements, scaling up of research methods and white-hot competition for genetic resources in the field of modern agricultural biotechnology, so as to truly take their place in the upcoming biological century.

The main areas of research in agricultural biotechnology include: the enhancement of crop resistance, quality improvement, yield enhancement, plant protection, bio-processing and so on. Among them, the research and application of genetically modified crops is the most important and fastest growing. The major biotechnology companies in developed countries are engaged in a fierce competition for biological resources and their intellectual property rights, the core of which is the competition for genes.

We would like to extend an invitation to all agricultural and biotechnology researchers to contact Innovation Forever if you have papers for publication in any of the following specialties, including but not limited to: crop science, horticulture, plant protection, agroecosystems and environment, food science, agricultural economics and management, agricultural information science, bioprocessing, histology, materials and equipment, therapeutics, agri-environment. Your contribution will be welcomed by our publishers.

As an incentive to contributors, we waive page charges. Papers are not strictly limited as long as they fit within our scope (reviews, research articles, letters and short communications). JMAB welcomes research institutions and others to demonstrate your authoritative, innovative and insightful works to advance agricultural and biotechnological knowledge and to do their part in the international advancement of agriculture and biotechnology, contributing to increased food crop production and improved livelihoods for farmers worldwide.
