Many people are very fond of eating corn flakes, and we can find them in all corners of the city, and now they have become the most popular breakfast cereal among consumers. It is easy and convenient for many people with busy schedules to consume a nutritious breakfast in the morning with just milk.

The popularity of healthy eating allows consumers to choose to eat healthier food. Although corn flakes have become very common, many people still do not know much about corn flakes. Because corn flakes are very crispy, many people will question whether corn flakes are fried or baked. Let’s learn together!

The main production process of baked cornflakes is mixing raw materials →  extrusion puffing →  drying → tempering → rolling → baking → seasoning → baked cornflakes.

The specific production process is shown below.

Mixing of raw materials: The raw materials prepared according to the recipe are conveyed into the mixer. Water and glucose syrup are added for uniform mixing to form a dough.

Extrusion ripening molding: This is a very critical step in baking cornflakes. A quality extrusion process should be done so that the cornflakes are fully cooked without any puffing. Under high temperature and pressure, the cornflakes are extruded into shape. Changing the mold will produce different shapes of cornflakes; the extruded cornflakes are more crispy, and the aroma is more prominent.

Pre-drying: the extruded corn flakes are conveyed into the dryer for drying treatment. The corn flakes no longer stick to each other, which is conducive to the smooth conduct of pressing.

Pressing: The dried cornflakes are pressed into thin slices.

High-temperature drying: The pressed cornflakes are dried again so that the moisture of the cornflakes is reduced to less than 3%, but then seasoned to obtain roasted cornflakes with a golden color and crispy taste.

Seasoning: After the roasted cornflakes cooled, that is the cornflake products. At present, there are also many cornflakes for post-process processing, coated with sugar or coated with chocolate, mostly according to market demand to determine.

The production process of fried corn flakes is corn grits → acid soaking → neutralization → washing → draining → grinding → shaping → baking → sieving → frying → seasoning → fried corn flakes.

The specific process of deep-fried cornflakes is as follows

Soak corn grits in sulfite water for 16-18 hours and then neutralize it with lime water, and then grind it into fine slag after the process of washing and draining, etc. The wet slag is pressed and shaped into triangular-shaped flakes with a side length of about 4-5 cm and a thickness of 2-3 mm, and then roasted at a high temperature of 371°C.

After roasting, the corn flakes are sieved to remove the fine crumbs and transported into the frying pan for deep-frying for 1 minute. After deep-frying, the tortilla chips are seasoned in a seasoning drum and packaged after seasoning to be the finished tortilla chips.

The above is the production method of baked corn flakes and fried corn flakes. Nowadays, most consumers prefer baked corn flakes because they do not contain oil, so they are nutritious and healthy, and there are more and more manufacturers producing baked corn flakes.

In the production of baked tortilla chips, the production process is essential and will directly determine the final quality of the tortilla chips. So the use of quality equipment for production will be the key to improving the quality of the tortilla chips. Corn Flake Production Line will provide a great help to manufacturers.

Corn Flake Production Line is made of stainless steel and highly automated production method, which further enhances the production efficiency and quality. The whole machine has a small footprint, low investment, and does not pollute the environment, which is ideal for manufacturers to increase their profits.
