After the Pre-Welding Treatment of the Connector and the Formal Welding

Different soldering objects of connectors require a different working temperature of the soldering iron. When judging the temperature of the soldering iron tip, you can touch the electric soldering iron to the rosin. If there is a "squeaky" sound, it means the temperature is appropriate; if there is no sound, it can only make the rosin barely melt, then the temperature is too low; if the soldering iron head touches When the rosin is smoked, it means that the temperature is too high.

Generally speaking, there are three main welding steps:

(1) First, melt a small amount of solder and rosin on the tip of the soldering iron, and align the tip of the soldering iron with the solder wire at the same time.

(2) When the flux on the tip of the soldering iron has not evaporated, contact the soldering tip with the solder wire at the same time to start melting the solder.

(3) After the solder has infiltrated the entire hard spot, remove the soldering iron tip and the solder wire at the same time.

The welding process generally takes 2~3s. When soldering integrated circuits, the amount of solder and flux must be strictly controlled. In order to avoid damage to the integrated circuit due to poor insulation of the electric soldering iron or the internal heater's induced voltage on the housing, the method of unplugging the power plug of the electric soldering iron while hot is often used in practical applications.

Virtual soldering of the electric soldering iron and its prevention method

When welding, make sure that each spot is welded firmly and in good contact, the tin spot should be bright, smooth, and free of burrs, and the amount of tin is moderate. Tin and the welding object are firmly fused, and there should be no virtual welding. The so-called virtual soldering refers to the fact that there is only a small amount of tin soldered at the solder joints, which results in poor contact and is always on and off. In order to avoid virtual welding, the following points should be noted:

(1) Ensure that the metal surface is clean

If the surface of the weldment and welding spot has rust, dirt or oxide, it should be scraped with a knife or sandpaper before welding until the bright metal is exposed, then the surface of the weldment or welding spot can be plated with tin.

(2) Master the temperature

In order to make the temperature appropriate, an electric soldering iron with appropriate power should be selected according to the size of the components, and pay attention to the heating time. If an electric soldering iron with low power is used to weld large components or ground wires on a metal base plate, it is easy to form a virtual solder.

When the soldering iron tip is pressed against the soldering place with solder, if the soldering point is not left or left little after the soldering iron is removed, it means that the heating time is too short, the temperature is not enough, or the solder is too dirty; if it is removed Before the soldering iron, the solder flows down, indicating that the heating time is too long and the temperature is too high.
