"International Children's Book Day" is initiated by the International Children's Books Alliance (IBBY) and is set on April 2 each year. This day is also the birthday of Andersen, the master of Danish children's literature. He will be reborn in the reading of countless children around the world every April 2nd.
Zhangjian Ichthyosis Care Center has established five public welfare libraries in China. The public library we have established is specially set up in schools that accept ichthyosis children.
We hope that more children can spend a carefree childhood with the company of books and spend the happiest time in their lives.
Everyone has unforgettable things in their childhood: the embrace of their mother, the tree in front of the house, or their childhood playmates.
But with such a group of children, the unforgettable things for them are not so good.
They suffer from an inherited skin disease with a 4‰ incidence, ichthyosis, which is a skin disease that causes skin dysfunction due to genetic defects.
They are supposed to enjoy their childhood like any other child but they are always timid and introverted because of their fish scale skin. They always want to play with their peers, but they fear of being excluded, which put heavy psychological pressure on them.
In order to give more care to children with ichthyosis, we provide them with free aid, and we will also build more public libraries to bring them a more rich and colorful childhood.
We will build more public libraries to provide more children with reading opportunities. We hope that the children will have a better childhood with the company of books.
