What is the difference between LED headlights, halogen headlights, and xenon headlights? Why can Car Led Headlights replace the other two headlights?
Car Led Headlights
Halogen headlights are the most basic type of car headlights, and the usage rate is very high; it can be said that halogen headlights are an upgraded version of incandescent lamps. Its origin is to add halogen elements to the prototype of incandescent lamps. It produces a chemical reaction with tungsten wire, which improves its brightness and long life.
The color temperature of halogen headlights is low, so the light is warmer and yellow. In rainy and foggy weather, the reflector is very penetrating and the light is uniform. This is also one of its advantages. The halogen headlights are simple to manufacture, so the cost is also Lower. However, halogen headlights also have disadvantages, that is, high temperature, poor durability, and low brightness.
Xenon Lamp is abbreviated as HID, which refers to high-pressure gas discharge lamp. The principle is to inject high-pressure inert gas-xenon into the quartz tube, and then use up to more than 20,000 volts to energize and emit light. So in essence, xenon headlights It is the gas that glows.
The light source emitted by xenon headlights is very transparent and bright, showing blue-white light. Compared with halogen headlights, the brightness is not even a little bit; and xenon has no filament structure, and the service life is much longer than halogen lamps! Another point is that if the xenon headlight encounters a malfunction, it will not go out instantly, but will gradually dim until it goes out, which gives the car owner enough time to deal with the headlight failure.
Of course, although xenon is much better than halogen, it has many shortcomings. First of all, xenon has poor light concentration and low penetrating power. It has poor penetrating power in rainy and foggy weather. Second is the delay effect, because it is a high-pressure gas discharge. It takes 2-4s to light it up.
LED can be said to be the tallest representative in the car light industry, but its essence is a light-emitting diode, a semiconductor material that can convert electrical energy into light energy; compared to halogen and xenon, the light source of LED is brighter and has a lifespan. Higher and more attractive~
The advantages of LED Headlights are energy saving and environmental protection, low cost, long life, high brightness, low voltage safety, and instant lighting; but there is no doubt that LED also has shortcomings, first of all, heat dissipation problems, if poor heat dissipation will greatly shorten the lifespan.
In fact, LED lights are the light-emitting diodes on the radio, but why are LEDs showing signs of replacing traditional halogen headlights and xenon headlights?
In fact, the reasons can be judged from the advantages and disadvantages of each light source. The cost of LEDs is getting lower and lower, and the brightness is high. It is not too bad and saves worry and effort; that’s it, when better light source alternatives appear, traditional The old light source will slowly be replaced.
From a technological point of view, the future of automobiles must be intelligent, and headlights are part of the car without exception. LED headlights are small in size, diversified in shape, easy to control, and strong in functionality. , Plasticity is high, everything is just right. Therefore, the times are constantly evolving, technology is constantly innovating, and the replacement of old and new is all reasonable.
