As a Slurry Pump Manufacturers, share with you. The first thing is to check before the slurry pump installation: before the installation, you should first check whether the type of equipment, parameters are correct, whether the parts are completely intact, and whether the technical data and quality certificates that come with the machine are complete. The slurry pump has been inspected and tested before leaving the factory. In order to ensure that the equipment is in good working condition, it is necessary to install it correctly. Never operate blindly.

The second is the equipment requirements for the inlet and outlet pipelines of the slurry pump. The diameter of the suction pipe of the slurry pump should be the same as the inlet diameter of the pump or slightly larger than the inlet diameter of the pump. It is necessary to avoid the cavitation phenomenon of the slurry pump and prevent the slurry from forming in the pipeline. There should be an elastic joint between the suction port of the pump and the suction pipe to facilitate disassembly and assembly of the pump. The diameter of the pump outlet pipe is related to the sedimentation flow rate of the slurry properties. In general, the discharge pipe diameter should be equal to or slightly larger than the pump outlet diameter. The outlet gate valve should have the same diameter as the discharge pipe. The pressure gauge is located on the straight pipe section between the pump outlet and the top valve.

The cavitation phenomenon of the pump and its causes:

1. Cavitation

When the liquid drops to the vaporization pressure at a certain temperature, the liquid will bubble. This phenomenon of bubble generation is called cavitation.

2. Cavitation collapse

The air bubbles that occur during cavitation, when flowing to a high pressure, their volume decreases and bursts. This phenomenon in which the bubbles disappear in the liquid due to the increase in pressure is called cavitation collapse.

3. Causes and damages of cavitation

When the pump is in operation, if the absolute pressure of the pumped liquid drops to the vaporization pressure of the liquid at the current temperature due to some reason in the partial area of the overflow part of the pump, the liquid will begin to vaporize there, generating a large amount of vapor and forming bubbles. When the liquid containing a large number of bubbles passes through the high-pressure zone in the impeller, the high-pressure liquid around the bubbles causes the bubbles to shrink sharply and even break. When the bubbles condense and break, the liquid particles fill the cavities at a high speed. At this moment, a very intense water hammer effect occurs, and the metal surface is hit with a high impact frequency. The impact stress can reach hundreds to thousands of atmospheres. The impact frequency can reach tens of thousands of times per second, and the wall thickness will be broken down when severe.

4. Cavitation process

The process in which bubbles and bubble rupture occur in the water pump to cause damage to the flow parts is the cavitation process in the water pump. After cavitation of the pump occurs, in addition to damaging the flow components, noise and vibration will also occur, and the function of the pump will decrease. When severe, the liquid in the pump will be interrupted and normal operation will not be possible.
