1. The management of welding wire in use
①The welding wire should be used up within 2 days after opening the package.
②After opening the package, the surface of the welding wire should be prevented from being condensed or contaminated by rust, grease and other hydrocarbons. Keep the surface of the welding wire clean and dry.
③When the welding wire is not used up and needs to be placed in the wire feeder overnight, cover the wire feeder (or wire reel) with canvas, plastic cloth or other objects to reduce contact with moisture in the air.
④ Remove the welding wire from the wire feeder if it is not used for more than 3 days. Put it back in the original packaging, seal and seal, and then put it in a warehouse with good storage conditions.
2. Quality management of welding wire
① For the purchased welding wire, each batch of products should have the quality assurance certificate of the manufacturer. Each package of the product that has passed the inspection must carry the product specification and the inspection product certificate. The inner packaging of each piece of welding wire should be marked with the welding wire model and corresponding national standard number, batch number, inspection number, specification, net quality, manufacturer name and factory address by label or other methods.
②The welding wire should be stacked separately according to the type and specification to prevent misuse.
③Distribute welding wire according to the principle of "first in, first out" to minimize the storage period of welding wire.
④ If the welding wire package is found to be damaged, check it carefully. Welding wire with obvious mechanical damage or excessive rust cannot be used for welding. It should be returned to the inspector or technical person in charge for inspection and approval for use.
3. Drying of welding wire
Drying is a problem often encountered in the use of welding rods, but for welding wire, it is not clearly mentioned in the existing literature and product descriptions. This shows that the drying of the welding wire before welding is usually unnecessary. In the actual construction, some people think that the welding wire that is more damp can also be dried, but the temperature should not be too high, generally 120~150℃ drying for 1~2h. This is beneficial to eliminate pores and reduce the diffusible hydrogen content.
