In a chemical plant, everyone must have used centrifugal pumps.Then, what are the common mistakes you can make in the use of the industrial Centrifugal pump?

When installing the inlet pipe, the horizontal section is horizontal or upward

This will make the water flow through the elbow into the impeller uneven distribution.When the diameter of the inlet pipe is larger than that of the pump inlet, eccentric tapered pipe should be installed.The flat part of the eccentric tapered pipe shall be installed on the top and the inclined part on the bottom.Otherwise gather air, reduce water output or pumping water, and there is a crash. If the diameters of the water inlet pipe and the water inlet of the water pump are equal, a continuous pipe shall be added between the water inlet and the elbow of KSB Centrifugal pump. The length of the straight pipe shall not be less than 2 to 3 times the diameter of the water pipe.

The inlet pipe USES many elbows

This will make the inlet pipe collect air, reduce the vacuum of water pipe and pump, so that the pump suction head is reduced, the water output is reduced.The correct approach is: the horizontal section should be slightly tilted in the direction of the water source, should not be horizontal, not upward.

The inlet pipe is in the wrong position

Many operators believe that this can increase the actual head, in fact the actual head of the pump = total head ~ loss head.When the pump type is determined, the total head is certain;The loss head mainly comes from the pipeline resistance, the smaller the pipe diameter, the greater the resistance obviously, so the loss head is larger, the corrosion of stainless steel reason analysis, so after reducing the pipe diameter, the actual head of the pump can not increase, but will reduce, resulting in a decrease in pump efficiency.

Similarly, when the small diameter pump pumping with large water pipe, it will not reduce the actual head of the pump, but will reduce the loss of head due to the reduction of pipeline resistance, so that the actual head has been increased.There are also operators think that the small pipe diameter pump with large water pipe pumping, will inevitably greatly increase the motor load, they think that the pipe diameter increases, the water in the outlet pipe on the pump impeller pressure is large, so will greatly increase the motor load.

However, the size of the liquid pressure is only related to the height of the head, and has nothing to do with the size of the water pipe cross-sectional area. As long as the head is certain, the impeller size of the robust sewage pump is unchanged, no matter how big the pipe diameter is, the pressure acting on the impeller is certain. But after the pipe diameter increases, the flow resistance will decrease, and the flow rate will increase, and the power consumption will also increase appropriately. But as long as in the rated head range, no matter how the pipe diameter increases the pump can work normally, and can also reduce the loss of pipeline, improve the efficiency of the pump.
